FANTASIA Censoring

I've got an original Laserdisc 3-disc set, with Certificate of
Authenticity, Program, Table of contents sheet, and the poster, 1236 CS
is the number.

Seems I remember that later versions, and the DVD issue, were tackled by
the though police, and certain scenes edited or cut.

Could anybody remember that, and describe the edits to me? I'd like to
be sure my Laserdisc set is intact.

Many thanks.

All black ponies were removed because they were characterized
as "pickaninnies" serving their non-black "masters" which was
a common stereotype at the time of FANTASIA's initial release.

During October 2008 I downloaded 3 *.mov files which have the
censored scenes but I don't recall from where I downloaded them:

total 7224
-rw-r--r-- 1 thad staff 1581018 Oct 1 2008 fantasia1.mov
-rw-r--r-- 1 thad staff 3207068 Oct 1 2008 fantasia2.mov
-rw-r--r-- 1 thad staff 2606612 Oct 1 2008 fantasia3.mov

Googling "fantasia1.mov" right now finds them on YouTube and many
other places. You could do the same for #2 and #3, too.

Googling "song of the south download" finds a lot of sources. I
haven't seen that movie since it was aired as a 2-parter on the
Sunday night Disney TV show back in the mid-1950s. YouTube has
it as 10 parts, and there are both direct and torrent download
sites listed by Google's pirate-friendly searches.

Thanks for the great info, and the links, Thad. I will indeed pursue
those links vis a vis FANTASIA to be sure my version is the non-censored
one.

Funny that they censor for political correctness, but you still can see
the naked little boys in the opening scene of Pollyanna.

Then you'd better sample every side, annually.
Mine's rotted. CAV, Mitsubishi pressing.
