I have been making AVI files from some LaserDiscs played on a CLD-D605.
The player has the CX emblem on the front panel, but there is no CX
switch on the panel or remote. There is no visible CX indicator.

Does this mean the CX switching is automatic for all CX discs?

CX is a noise reduction system for analog audio and is not applied to the digital audio. You can toggle between the digital and analog audio tracks with your remote. Some older laserdiscs only have analog audio.
